Common use of LENGTH OF CONTRACT YEAR Clause in Contracts

LENGTH OF CONTRACT YEAR. The normal contract year will be 190 days as determined and scheduled by the Board. Contract days may be scheduled for instruction, curriculum study, orientation, inservice, parent conferences, teacher preparation or other activities determined by the Board. The Board retains the right to modify or change the use of contract days. Starting in the 2015-16 school term, the length of the contract year will be reduced to 172 days. However, the Board reserves the right to increase (but not to exceed) the contract year in the future (up to 190 days) with no additional compensation to staff. The duty day for all certified staff members will be published each year in August by the superintendent or building principal as the case may be.
