Limitations of the Research Sample Clauses

Limitations of the Research. Firstly, this research is limited to analysing the contemporary developments and changes within the fold of Christianity, so that it can be different from the religious phenomena occurred in the other religions. Secondly, since this study is focused on the two main branches of Christianity, Catholicism and Protestantism, it can function alongside a relatively unreflexive categorization of religion. Thirdly, because this research is mainly focused on the transformation of Christianity in developed civil society, it rules out the contemporary developments and changes of religion in society where basic condition for civil society is not yet developed, such as communist countries, Islam where religion and politics is not differentiated, and undemocratic societies. Thus, it seems to be oriented to the western religious situation, and to prevent us from fully comprehending the contemporary changes of Christianity in non-Western societies. However, it does not start from the view point of the heritage of modern Western thought, but holds careful consideration to the changes of religious milieus in multiple modernities on a global scale.

Limitations of the Research. The present study has several limitations. First, is the lack of a no-treatment group, which would have enabled to examine the effects of researcher attention, expectation of change, and other unspecific factors that might have served as confounding variables. It is possible that the reduction in depressive symptoms from pre to post-intervention was due in part or full to unspecific factors, rather than to the interventions- for example, an improvement in morale might have contributed to an improvement in mood and reduction of depressive symptoms (Xxxxxx & Xxxxxxxxx, 1994). The medium to large effect sizes found in the current study are in line with early gains reported in larger studies, which some of the authors argue, are due mostly to ‘unspecific’ factors (Xxxxx et al., 2006; Xxxxxx & Xxxxxxxx, 1987; Xxxxxx & Xxxxxxxxx, 1994, 1999; Xxxx, Xxxxxx, Beck, Weissenburger, & Xxxxxx, 1981). Second, the current study is based on a relatively small sample of patients (N= 40), which limits the generalisability of the findings. Nevertheless, the sample size in the current study is comparable to the sample size of clinical groups in other studies (Xxxxxx, Broeck, & Xxxxxxxxx, 2009; Kingston et al., 2007). Third, the number of analyses performed might have increased the risk of a family- wise type I error. However, Bonferroni correction (which is considered conservative) was used to adjust the statistical results in the pairwise comparisons, thus reducing the likelihood that the findings were false positives. Fourth, there is a high comorbidity between depression and anxiety (Xxxxxxxxxx, 2001). Although a measure of anxiety was included in the present study (GAD-7) and participants were screened for other mental health problems, a formal detailed assessment was not conducted for reasons of feasibility. Therefore, participants’ comorbid mental health problems may have confounded the findings of the current study. Nevertheless, the sample of the current study is representative of a clinical population accessing IAPT services within the NHS, which contributes to the external validity of the study. Fifth, detailed information about antidepressant medication (specific anti- depressant taken and dose) was not gathered. Nevertheless, patients were only included in the study if they had no change in medication within four weeks prior to their enrolment in the study and if they had no plans to change it within two weeks following study enrolment. Therefore, it is unlikely th...
Limitations of the Research. There are several limitations to this research. My personal experiences and identity as a Korean TCK woman can result in overidentification, projection, or assumptions that may hinder a more critical approach to TCKs’ stories.134 My explicit motivations for this research to improve the identity formation experiences of minoritized TCKs through a postcolonial lens affects the way I converse with the interviewees and respond to positions that I might deem Eurocentric or colonizing. When I listened to some of the way I responded to their answers, I could sense deeper empathy at certain moments more than others, which can actually be repeating colonial silencing of another’s story without truly listening. To address this limitation, I named my countertransference by writing it out and sorting out what was my issue and what was likely going on behind my strong reactions. Whenever possible, I tried to create a generous holding environment where I could most empathically represent the interviewees’ perspectives. I also asked clarifying questions during and after the interview and invited their feedback at every stage of the writing process. The small number of research participants in a narrative inquiry raise questions about the limitations of findings from so few people studied. However, I think that it is worth suspending the generalizability of this narrative inquiry to hear minoritized TCKs’ stories that usually get buried under dominant discourse. 134 Xxxxx Xxxxxxxxx and Xxxxxxx Xxxxx, Interviews: Learning the Craft of Qualitative Research Interviewing, 3rd ed. Limitations of the Research. This study focuses on improvement and developing performance and relationship with service suppliers by using service level strategy. That study identifies the criteria of service level agreement. Because of the limitation of time, the researcher considered the historical data for 2 years which are 2011 and 2012 only. Moreover, this study focuses on the cost from service suppliers, occurring because of tank storage and transportation activities. As of some data is confidential, the final price of raw materials could not be used in this research, therefore raw material costs are calculated based on the Asian market price of an average or percentage. Deep details of PET production process are difficult to obtain, therefore the researcher presents only the overall picture of PET production process.
