Common use of Lower Wage Rates Clause in Contracts

Lower Wage Rates. When the College temporarily assigns an employee to the duties and responsibilities of a position in a payband with a lower rate range or maximum salary where there is no work reasonably available for him/her in the position from which he/she was assigned, he/she shall be paid the lower applicable wage rate to which he/she was assigned after the expiration of ten (10) consecutive working days in such lower payband. When the College temporarily assigns an employee to the duties and responsibilities of a position in a payband with a lower rate range or maximum salary where there is work reasonably available for him/her in that position from which he/she was assigned, he/she shall continue to be paid at the rate applicable to the position from which he/she was assigned.
