Master Teacher Committee. A. A master teacher committee shall be established for the purpose of designating teachers in the district as a master teacher. 1. The committee shall be comprised of four (4) Association - appointed members and two (2) administrators. 2. The master teacher committee shall be co-chaired by one (1) Association member and one (1) member of the Administration who shall jointly determine the time, location and number of committee meetings. The master teacher committee members shall establish its Plan of Operation for the appropriate designation of a master teacher, including but not limited to the application and review processes, the dissemination of general information to local association members, and the appeal procedure. 3. The Association shall determine the length of the term of office for the local association members serving on the master teacher committee. Terms of office for the master teacher committee shall be staggered to the greatest extent possible. The Association shall determine the process for removing a teacher member from office. In the event of an in-term vacancy or removal, the teacher member shall be replaced by the Association. 4. Nothing in the master teacher committee process shall have an adverse impact on the educator’s performance evaluation as established in this Agreement. 5. As determined by the master teacher committee, the Association’s master teacher committee members shall be provided on-going training by the employer to ensure consistent application of the master teacher criteria. 6. The Association’s master teacher committee members shall receive forty dollars ($40) for each application a committee member reviews. 7. The master teacher committee shall be provided with adequate and secure space for the safe and secure storage of records, files and any other work and materials requiring storage and/or file space. The master teacher committee shall be provided with the equipment, paper and other materials necessary to perform its duties, as specified in the master teacher operating procedures. The master teacher committee shall be provided with secretarial support and any other support services necessary. 8. The master teacher committee shall determine its own appeals procedure. The master teacher committee appeals procedure is not subject to the grievance/arbitration procedure outlined in this Agreement. 9. Teachers who successfully complete the initial Master Teacher process shall be compensated in the amount of five-hundred dollars ($500.00). Teachers who complete the renewal process shall be compensated in the amount of two-hundred dollars ($200.00).

Master Teacher Committee. A. A master teacher committee The Master Teacher Committee, in compliance with the regulations of the Ohio Department of Education, shall be established for the purpose composed of designating teachers in the district as a master teacher. 1. The committee shall be comprised of five (5) members – four (4) Association - appointed members and two (2) administrators. 2. The master teacher committee shall be co-chaired by one (1) Association WGEA member representatives and one (1) member of the Administration who shall jointly determine the time, location and number of committee meetingsadministrator. This process will be outlined in the Master Teacher Committee policies, including but not limited to the application and review processes, the dissemination of general information to local association membersprocedures, and the appeal procedureguidelines document. 3. The Association Master Teacher Committee shall determine the length time, place, and dates of the term of office for the local association members serving on the master teacher committee. Terms of office for the master teacher committee shall be staggered to the greatest extent possible. The Association shall determine the process for removing a teacher member from office. In the event of an in-term vacancy or removal, the teacher member shall be replaced by the Associationits meetings. 4. Nothing in Expenses of the master Master Teacher Committee shall be borne by the Board and will be included as part of the annual cap of costs associated with Article VI, AC., 4., Expenses will include stipends, costs for release time, chairperson stipend and professional development workshops. The budget and expenditures will be approved by the Superintendent. Denial of any budget or individual expenditure shall not be arbitrary or capricious. Release time will be provided for a maximum of five (5) meetings during the school year. A maximum of one (1) meeting can be held outside of the school day or school year. Meetings will only be held if needed. Each teacher committee process member who attends the meeting that is held outside of the school year will be provided a stipend of fifty dollars ($50.00). Attendance at related professional development workshops and/or training shall have an adverse impact on the educator’s performance evaluation be provided for Master Teacher Committee members as established in this Agreementdeemed necessary to perform their duties. 5. Master Teacher Committee. A. 1. A master teacher committee Master Teacher Committee shall be established created in the 2011-12 school year for the purpose of designating teachers in establishing procedures whereby Board employees may become and/or maintain the district as a designation of “master teacher” according to standards set forth by the state of Ohio. 12. The committee shall be comprised clothed with all authority afforded it under Ohio law and under the Ohio Educator Standards Board in order to carry out its mission and to make decisions as to how it shall function. 3. Important functions of four the committee shall include but not be limited to: constructing district timelines to oversee and verify candidate eligibility, using state designated forms to properly process candidates, providing “master teacher” program information to employees, communicating the compilation of candidates’ scores to appropriate individuals, maintaining required records, and submitting required information to the EMIS Coordinator. 4. The Committee shall consist of a total of eight (48) Board employees as follows: two (2) Association - appointed members elementary teachers, two (2) middle school teachers, two (2) high school teachers and two (2) administrators. Said committee teachers will be chosen by the committee from the pool of qualified teachers. The committee administrator shall be chosen by the district’s Superintendent of schools. 25.
