Common use of Maternity Leave Allowance Eligibility Clause in Contracts

Maternity Leave Allowance Eligibility. After completion of six (6) months continuous employment, an employee who provides the Corporation with proof that she has applied for and is in receipt of employment insurance benefits pursuant to Section 22(1) of the Employment Insurance Act, (1996), shall be paid a maternity leave allowance in accordance with the Supplementary Unemployment Benefit Plan. The employee granted leave under this Xxxxxx accepts the leave under the conditions set out below. 33.9.1 The employee will return to work on the expiry date of her maternity leave unless the date is modified by a medical practitioner or unless the employee is then entitled to another leave provided for in this Agreement. 33.9.2 The employee will return to work and will remain in the Corporation's employ for at least six (6) months unless, for reasons beyond her control or as set out elsewhere in this Agreement, the employee is unable to do so.
