Medical Staff By-Laws. ‌ A. Where there is an organized medical staff, there shall be Medical Staff by-laws. In hospitals where there are ten (10) or more full-time Bargaining Xxxx 00 employees providing direct patient care, they may form an organized medical staff. In every DSH facility accredited by the Joint Commission, the Organized Medical Staff shall have medical staff by-laws that conform to the Medical Staff standards chapter of the Joint Commission. B. It is the intent of CDCR, at institutions where there is a DSH psychiatric program, to have one organized medical staff who, under the by-laws can elect their own officers, in accordance with the requirements of Title 22. Both physicians employed by the DSH psychiatric unit and the physicians employed by CDCR shall be members under the by-laws. This provision is not subject to the grievance and arbitration clause of the contract.

It is the intent of the State Department of Corrections, California Medical Facility (CMF), at Vacaville, to have one organized medical staff who, under the bylaws can elect their own officers, in accordance with the requirements of Title 22. Both physicians employed by the Department of Mental Health psychiatric unit at CMF and the physicians employed by the Department of Corrections at CMF shall be members under the bylaws. Medical Staff By-Laws. The Board of Trustees shall require the Medical Staff to develop, adopt and periodically review bylaws and rules and regulations governing the Medical Staff and to submit such bylaws, amendments and rules and regulations to the Board of Trustees for approval, and such bylaws and amendments thereto as approved by the Board of Trustees shall become part of the bylaws of the Exeter Hospital, Inc.; provided that the Board of Trustees reserves the right to adopt or amend any bylaws, rules and regulations if in the Trustees’ reasonable opinion, such action is necessary in order to achieve the hospitals objectives, protect the safety of patients, maintain the hospitals financial stability, or assure the hospitals compliance with legal, governmental, or other regulatory requirements.
