Common use of Night School Clause in Contracts

Night School. A. The duties formerly performed by the Director of Night School shall be performed by Assistant Principals or other appropriate J. Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx District Administrators assigned by the Superintendent or a designee of the Superintendent, hereinafter referred to as Night School Administrator beginning in the 2009-2010 school year. B. The Night School Lead Teacher shall be a tenured faculty member in District 201. The Night School Lead Teacher stipend shall be double (2x) the Night School Teacher stipend in Appendix III. Extra hours worked by the Night School Lead Teacher must have advance approval from the Night School Administrator in order to be paid. Such approved extra hours will be compensated at an hourly rate determined by the following formula: number of hours worked multiplied by the trimester stipend divided by 120 (double the number of Night School work hours). The Night School Lead Teacher in year 2009-2010 shall not be assigned a teaching load. Beginning in the 2010-2011 school year, the Night School Lead Teacher shall be assigned one class to teach and shall be present for Night School to perform administrative duties during the other class time. If no Xxxxxx teacher applies for the position of Night School Lead Teacher, the Board may appoint an appropriate Xxxxxx Administrator to fill the position of Night School Lead Teacher.‌ C. The District shall first fill available Night School teaching positions with J Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx District employees. Qualified Xxxxxx teachers shall be hired first for Night School teaching positions. If there are insufficient Xxxxxx teacher applicants, other certified non-administrative staff who apply may be hired. If vacancies for Night School teacher positions remain for which no certified Xxxxxx employees apply, certified teachers who are not Xxxxxx employees will be awarded Night School teaching positions if no qualified Xxxxxx employee has applied for the position by the expiration of the five day posting period.

Any teacher who is instructing any Night School session course during which two (2) semester courses are taught simultaneously in the same classroom shall receive one and one-half (1.5) times the Night School rate of pay.
