Building Committee. The building committee in each school will develop guidelines and procedures for the operation of such committee. The goal of the Building Committee is: To xxxxxx a positive climate of problem solving whereby the entire faculty feels comfortable sharing ideas, concerns, and resolutions to benefit the school, faculty, and the students they serve. The team is charged to: Address working conditions/contractual issues Ensure that all employee voices are heard The team will consist of the following: The Association faculty representative, and Three to seven teachers nominated in a general faculty meeting and elected by a secret ballot vote of all the teachers of the faculty. At the first possible time during pre-planning, the faculty representatives will conduct the above election of the additional committee members. The elected members of the committee will serve as representatives of the teachers working at the site. The elected members of the committee will be charged with bringing the concerns of the entire faculty to the site’s Building Committee meetings. The committee will meet as needed but not less frequently than monthly with the principal to make suggestions related but not limited to the interpretation and application of this agreement. These meetings and suggestions will not bypass the negotiations or grievance procedures. The site’s Association Faculty Representative will submit the committee’s suggestions to the principal. The principal will provide a written response of such suggestions to the Building Committee which may be submitted to the Superintendent and the Association President, and distributed to the site’s staff by the Association’s faculty representative.
Building Committee. 17.1 A building committee shall be formed which shall include a representative of the developer and an architect appointed by the developer. All dwellings built on Dunkirk Estate shall be approved by the building committee, prior to commencement of construction.
17.2 In the event of there being any dispute relating to the interpretation of the architectural code, then it shall be decided upon by a referee. The referee shall be a qualified architect and shall be appointed by the trustees of the developer. The referee's decision shall be final and binding on the parties.
17.3 When submitting building plans for alterations and additions to the building committee, a submission fee is payable to the Dunkirk Homeowners Association for review of the plans. The fees vary according to whether it is a freehold or medium density site and whether the architect is on the list of approved architects or not.
Building Committee. A. There shall be a committee in each of the three high schools, composed of the principal (the chairperson) and three (3) teachers chosen by the Union Executive Board, one of whom shall be a member of said board. The chairperson of the committee in each building shall notify the entire staff of the membership of the committee. The chairperson and teachers making up this committee, upon the establishment of an agenda for a meeting, may be allowed to call in as resource people any persons connected with the Xxxxxx establishment. These resource persons, however, shall not be considered members of this committee.
B. Each committee will act as a channel for communication between administration and faculty in matters regarding the building, its use, upkeep and improvement. Teachers experienced in particular instructional areas shall participate actively with the architect in the planning, layout, and equipping of all school facilities in those areas. The committee will act to see that there is feedback on work order requests made through proper channels.
C. Each committee will be informed about proposed changes in the building, and it will work with the Administration to keep the staff informed.
D. Each committee will inform the Administration of suggestions from the staff of building needs. The committee's purpose shall not be construed as directing the Board in the matter of construction, finance or operational finances.
E. The first meeting in the school year shall be held no later than the second week in October, and, thereafter, once a month as needed. Meetings shall be called at the mutual agreement of the administrator and the members of the union executive board.
F. Any agreement reached in building committee shall be signed and presented to the Superintendent and the union executive board if the building committee agrees that the agreement reached should be in writing. It is understood that these agreements shall not violate the School Code or Union-Board Agreement.

The Association Building Committee shall consist of three (3) teachers from that school, (four (4) in secondary schools), who serve as Building Representatives of the Association. Minutes from all building committee meetings will be kept in one Google Drive folder, accessible by everyone in the building.

The Board Attorney represents the School Board in its capacity as the governing body for the School District. The Board Attorney serves on a retainer or other fee arrangement as determined in advance.
