Notice of Temporary Closure. Temporary closure shall be defined as the total temporary cessation of the operations of any of the following services: The Highland Pub, Higher Grounds, The Ladle or Catering. Written notice of temporary closures which are known to the Employer as of the previous December 31st shall be provided to the Union by the second Friday of January in each calendar year. The layoff notice provisions in Article 22 will not apply to such closures. The Union may request to meet with the Employer within five (5) calendar days of receiving the notice if it wishes to discuss the notice given under this Article. Once finalized, a copy of the notice will be posted on the employee bulletin boards and on the SFSS website. Notice will also be sent to the employee’s email list. Notification and consultation requirements of this provision shall be deemed to satisfy any obligations the Employer has pursuant to Article 30.01 and Section 54 of the Labour Relations Code.

  • Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons.
