Objections on Religious Grounds. The obligation to pay a fair share fee to the Union shall not apply to any employee who, on the basis of a bona fide religious xxxxx or teaching of a church or religious body of which such employee is a member, objects to the payment of a fair share fee to the Union. Upon proper substantiation and collection of the entire fee, the Union will make payment in behalf of the employee to a non-religious charitable organization mutually agreed to by the objecting employee and the Union. If the employee and the Union are unable to agree upon a non-religious charitable organization, the organization shall be determined in accordance with the procedures established by the Illinois State Labor Relations Board.

Any Unit Member who is a member of a bona fide religious body whose traditional tenets or teachings include objections to joining or financially supporting employee organizations shall not be required to join, maintain membership in, or financially support the Association as a condition of employment; except that such Unit Member shall, in lieu of a service fee, pay a sum equal to such service fee to one of the following non-religious, non-labor organizations, all of which are charitable funds exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of Title 26 of the Internal Revenue Code, which may be paid by payroll deduction as set forth in Section 2 of this Article:
