OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARDS. Subpart A—General
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARDSThe Consultant shall not require any individual employed in the performance of this Agreement to work in surroundings or under working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to health or safety as determined under the Occupational Safety and Health Standards promulgated by the United States Secretary of Labor. This provision shall be made a condition of any subcontract entered into pursuant to this Agreement. In addition, the Consultant shall abide by the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Standards adopted under Section 40.1-22 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, and will fulfill the duties imposed under Section 40.1-51.1 of the Code of Virginia. Any violation of the aforementioned requirements or duties which is brought to the attention of the Consultant by any person shall be immediately abated.
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARDS. 33.01 The District will furnish each employee a place of employment which is free from recognized hazards that cause or are likely to cause serious physical or mental harm. 33.02 The District will comply with occupational safety and health standards. 33.03 If a situation exists that poses a threat to an employee’s health or safety, the employee will not be required to perform the task, or work in the location until corrective action has been taken by the District. If a dispute arises concerning this section, a mutually agreed upon industrial hygienist will be brought in to make a professional evaluation. All expenses will be equally divided by the parties to this Agreement. This evaluation will be binding on all parties.
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARDS. It is a condition of THE AGREEMENT and any subcontract entered into pursuant to THE AGREEMENT that THE CONSULTANT will not require any individual employed in the performance of THE AGREEMENT to work in, surrounding, or under conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to health or safety as determined under the Occupational Safety and Health Standards promulgated by the United States Secretary of Labor. In addition, THE CONSULTANT'S attention is specifically directed to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards adopted under section __________ of the Code of __________ (State) and to the duties imposed under section __________ of the Code of __________ (State). THE CONSULTANT will abide by the aforementioned duties. Any violation of the aforementioned requirements or duties that is brought to the attention of THE CONSULTANT will be immediately abated.
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARDSThe Contractor shall conform to all local, state and federal rules and regulations pertaining to safety. Furnished equipment, material and services shall comply with all OSHA Standards and regulations and all applicable governmental laws and orders. The Contractor shall post an OSHA poster in a conspicuous location as required by law
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARDS. The Work and the Contractor’s operational activities shall at all times comply with all applicable provisions of the Department of Labor, safety and health regulations for construction and applicable occupational safety and health standards.

  • SAFETY AND HEALTH 20.1 The Employer, employee and Union have a significant responsibility for workplace safety and health. A. The Employer will provide a work environment in accordance with safety and health standards established by the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA). B. Employees will comply with all safety and health practices and standards established by the Employer. C. The Union will work cooperatively with the Employer on safety and health related matters and encourage employees to work in a safe manner. 20.2 Employees will take an active role in creating a safe and healthy workplace by reporting immediate safety issues to their supervisor(s), following the chain of command, and other safety issues to their safety committee and/or safety officer for review and action, as necessary. Employees may additionally contact a Union xxxxxxx. The Employer will address reported unsafe working conditions and take appropriate action. All parties will comply with WAC 000-000-000 regarding unsafe work assignments and/or conditions that a reasonable person would conclude could create a real danger of death or serious injury. 20.3 The Employer will determine and provide the required safety devices, personal protective equipment and apparel, which employees will wear and/or use. The Employer will repair or replace employer provided safety items if out-of-date, or damaged/worn beyond usefulness in the normal course of business. The Employer will provide employees with orientation and/or training to perform their jobs safely. In addition, if necessary, training will be provided to employees on the safe operation of equipment prior to use. 20.4 The Employer will form a joint safety committee, in accordance with WISHA requirements, at each work location where there are eleven (11) or more employees. Meetings will be conducted in accordance with WAC 000-000-00000. The committee will be known as the Safety and Health Committee. The committee will consider workplace safety and health issues affecting employees. Employee participation in joint safety committee meetings held during the employee’s work time will be considered time worked. Employees may request work schedule adjustments to participate. No overtime or compensatory time will be paid as a result of participation in joint safety committee meetings held during the employee’s non-work hours. Any employee has the right to bring a workplace health and safety concern to the joint safety committee. Committee recommendations will be forwarded to the appropriate appointing authority for review and action, as necessary.

  • Federal Occupational Safety and Health Law Contractor represents and warrants that all articles and services shall meet or exceed the safety standards established and promulgated under the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, as amended (29 U.S.C. Chapter 15).

  • OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY 34.01 The parties recognize the need for a safe and healthy workplace. The Employer shall be responsible for providing safe and healthy working conditions. The Employer and Employees will take all reasonable steps to eliminate, reduce or minimize all workplace safety hazards. Occupational health and safety education, training and instruction provided by the Employer, shall be paid at the Basic Rate of Pay, to fulfill the requirements for training, instruction or education set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation or Code. (a) There shall be an Occupational Health and Safety Committee (Committee), which shall be composed of representatives of the Employer and representatives of the Local and may include others representing recognized functional bargaining units. This Committee shall meet once a month, and in addition shall meet within 10 days of receiving a written complaint regarding occupational health or safety. An Employee shall be paid the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay for attendance at Committee meetings. A request to establish separate committees for each site or grouping of sites shall not be unreasonably denied. The Employer shall provide training at no cost to all Employees on the Committee to assist them in performing their duties on the Committee. Training shall be paid at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay. (b) Minutes of each meeting shall be taken and shall be approved by the Employer, the Local, and other bargaining groups, referred to in (a), prior to circulation. (c) The purpose of the Committee is to consider such matters as occupational health and safety and the Local may make recommendations to the Employer in that regard. (d) If an issue arises regarding occupational health or safety, the Employee or the Local shall first seek to resolve the issue through discussion with the applicable immediate supervisor in an excluded management position. If the issue is not resolved satisfactorily, it may then be forwarded in writing to the Committee. (e) The Committee shall also consider measures necessary to ensure the security of each Employee on the Employer’s premises and the Local may make recommendations to the Employer in that regard. (f) (i) Should an issue not be resolved by the Committee, the issue shall be referred to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). A resolution meeting between the Local and the CEO, or designate(s), shall take place within 21 calendar days of the issue being referred to the CEO. The CEO or designate(s) shall reply in writing to the Local within seven (7) calendar days of the resolution meeting.
