OPTING OUT OF COVERAGE FOR ACTIVE EMPLOYEES. Any employee who opts not to take Town provided health insurance coverage will be compensated six thousand dollars ($6,000.00) annually, which will be paid in the last pay period of the fiscal year. Employees who wish to re-enroll in the Town provided health insurance plan may only do so on July 1 unless there is a qualifying event which causes them to lose their alternate coverage during the year. If there is a qualifying event, proof of coverage termination must be provided to the Personnel Office. If an employee re-enrolls in the Town provided health insurance plan other than during open enrollment in July, he shall receive pro-rated waiver of premium compensation in the last pay period in June.
