Orientation and Training. Section 1. The County shall provide new hire orientation. The County shall provide the Union with the opportunity to speak to all new bargaining unit employees within ten (10) working days of their starting date of hire. The Union shall contact the Department of Human Resources to coordinate scheduling. Section 2. The County will provide training when it determines such training is necessary to enhance the ability of bargaining unit employees to perform their jobs. Bargaining unit employees may submit written requests with written supporting documentation, to the Employer for additional training that the employee believes is necessary to perform their jobs. The County shall not deprive an employee training opportunities for unreasonable, arbitrary or capricious reasons.
