Other Leaves of Absence for Long-Term Occasional Teachers. a) Bereavement Leave i) Leave of Absence without loss of pay shall be granted to a maximum of three (3) working days in the case of the death of an immediate member of his/her family for the purpose of arranging for and attending the funeral. Immediate member of the family shall mean spouse, mother, father, daughter, son, sister, brother, father-in- law, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in- law, daughter-in-law, grandparent or grandchild. ii) Leave of Absence without loss of pay shall be granted to a teacher to a maximum of one (1) working day to attend the funeral of an aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew. iii) At the discretion of the Superintendent of Human Resources, up to two (2) additional working days may be granted to meet exigencies of distance and special circumstances.
