Category Definitions and Teacher Qualifications. (a) Teacher category placement on the Salary Grid shall be according to the Qualifications Evaluation Council of Ontario (Q.E.C.O.) Program Four as of September 1, 1994.
(b) Effective September 1, 2003, teacher category placement on the Salary Grid shall be in accordance to the Qualification Evaluation Council of Ontario (Q.E.C.O.)
Category Definitions and Teacher Qualifications. 4.01 Category definitions shall be those established by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation. For the purpose of salary categorization the Employer recognizes the Certification Rating Statement issued by the OSSTF Certification Division. Teachers shall be paid in accordance with their Certification Rating Statement based on the current Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation Certification Plan.
4.02 It shall be incumbent upon the teacher to provide documented proof in the form of a Group Rating Statement from the OSSTF as to the teacher’s appropriate group classification in accordance with Article 4.01 hereof.
4.03 A teacher who qualifies for a change in category shall receive the appropriate differential remunerative amount within thirty (30) days of receipt of the revised Certification Rating Statement by the Employer. Where documents are submitted to OSSTF on or before December 31st, a teacher shall receive an adjustment in salary retroactive to September 1st of that school year. The teacher shall notify the Employer in writing of such a submission being made. Where documents are submitted to OSSTF on or after January 1st, and on or before June 30th, a teacher shall receive an adjustment in salary retroactive to January 1st of that school year, when the notification of the change is subsequently received. Notwithstanding the above, teachers, who have given written notice to the Employer that they have made application for such change in category, and who through no fault of their own are unable to provide the Certification Rating Statement by December 31st or June 30th, shall not be penalized.
4.04 All teachers employed on Letters of Standing shall be paid according to their Letter of Evaluation from OSSTF with the appropriate category placement.
4.05 All teachers employed on Interim Certificates of Qualifications shall be paid according to their Letter of Evaluation from OSSTF with the appropriate category placement.

6.01) Category definitions shall be those established by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation as of 31 December 2000. b) It shall be incumbent upon the Teacher to provide valid documentation from Q.E.C.O. for category placement.
c) All qualified new appointees shall be placed in the category consistent with the category placement and recognized years of teaching experience provided that documentary evidence to support such placement and experience is submitted to the Employer prior to the commencement of duties. When such evidence is not submitted prior to the commencement of duties, the Employer shall place the Teacher in Category A2 minimum until such evidence is supplied. When such evidence is supplied, any retroactivity shall apply according to the criteria delineated in 11.07 (a) and (b).
