Other Special Leaves. A teacher shall also be entitled to a special leave in the following cases: a) when a complication in the pregnancy or a risk of miscarriage requires a work stoppage for a period prescribed by a medical certificate; this special leave cannot be extended beyond the beginning of the fourth week preceding the due date; b) when a natural or induced miscarriage occurs before the beginning of the 20th week preceding the due date, upon presentation of a medical certificate prescribing the duration; c) for visits with a health professional related to the pregnancy and attested to by a medical certificate or a written report signed by a midwife; as regards these visits, the teacher shall be granted a special leave without loss of salary or premiums for regional disparities for a maximum of four days which may be taken in half-days.
