Outline of the Chapter. The chapter is structured into two parts. The first part begins with the background and rationale of my thesis, introducing the idea of ‘problematisations’ as an object of study and making an argument for the discursive approach to the ‘problem' of youth sexual health. This means that problems are conceived as the effect of the problematising activity of ‘how to govern’, rather than as a response to a problem that is ‘out there’ waiting to be solved. This first part also includes the aim and research questions, as well as the objectives, analytical approach and material of my thesis. The second part of this chapter is intended to begin to give shape to the overall theoretical framework. To do this, I first introduce the reader to policy analysis as discursive analysis, followed by a more specific discussion of the Foucauldian framework. Here I introduce the categories and concepts I apply in order to study problematisations in policy texts. The final section of this chapter offers an outline of the thesis providing a brief introduction to every chapter.

Outline of the Chapter. This chapter is organised into three main tasks that correspond to three main elements of the framework I develop in this chapter. The first task is to detail how I use Xxxxxxxx’x analytics of problematisations to delimit the object and scope of the empirical analysis. Using the elements of Xxxxxxxx’x works discussed in the previous chapter (Chapter One), I develop a framework of analysis to analyse problematisations in policy documents. This task is carried out in the first section of this chapter. The second task is completed in the second section of this chapter, where I define and describe how I develop a method of analysis based on my framework. In this second section I detail the specific phases, organisation and steps involved in the reading of the texts I have selected for the empirical analysis. In the third section of this chapter, I complete the third and final task by explaining and detailing the selection criteria for the empirical material and accounting for how primary and secondary sources are used in my thesis. A fourth and final section closes the chapter with a discussion of the limitations of the framework of analysis I have produced and presented in this chapter.
Outline of the Chapter. This third chapter is divided into two parts. The first part is a review of the national English and Swedish policy contexts, including international and national studies, government reports and various secondary sources. This review is by no means extensive, but offers thumbnail sketches of the developments in the last 50 years that give context to the sexual health policy documents from each setting. By reviewing this literature, I locate and contextualise the policy documents I have selected as empirical material (see, Table 1 and Table 2 in Chapter Two). Providing this background is necessary in order to assess the relevance of the selected texts within a particular political context, and also to account for the logic behind their selection in my study. Further, the contexts of the policy documents need to be connected to the empirical analysis, as it is necessary to consider the historical-spatial location of each text, in order to avoid treating the documents in an ahistorical manner. The second part of this chapter is dedicated to the additional literature I use to explore the multiple ‘external relations of intelligibility’

  • Overview and Purpose of This Contract This Contract is executed by the New York State Office of General Services (OGS), a New York State (NYS) agency authorized by law to issue Centralized Contracts for use by NYS Agencies and other Authorized Users. This Contract establishes Centralized Contracts with Vendors to provide Project Based Information Technology Consulting Services to NYS Authorized Users on a statewide basis. The Centralized Contract establishes a set of standardized terms and conditions, guidelines, processes, and templates for the development, distribution, and award of deliverable-based and fixed- price information technology projects, at the transactional level, through a Mini-Bid process. The Contractor agrees to the terms and conditions set forth in this Centralized Contract and the Contractor is willing to provide such services as set forth herein to Authorized Users The Centralized Contract sets forth a two-step process for each transaction. The first step is the establishment of the centralized contract, through a non-competitive periodic recruitment process. The second step will be competitive, based on the development of a specific project by an Authorized User in accordance with the contractual terms. Information Technology Project needs will be identified by an Authorized User, and documented in a Statement of Work (SOW). The project will then be distributed to Contractors based on specific Lot(s), via the Mini-Bid process. An award shall be based on best- value. The Mini-Bid award will result in an Authorized User Agreement for Project Based Information Technology Consulting Services. Each Authorized User Agreement for Project Based Information Technology Consulting Services will be governed first by the terms and conditions specified in the OGS Centralized Contract and second by terms and conditions added to the Authorized User Mini-Bid. See Appendix B, section 28 regarding modification of Contract terms. Services available under the resultant Contracts will be separated into three (3) distinct Lots. The lot(s) Contractor was awarded are identified in Appendix G, Contractor and OGS Information.

  • TERM AND SCOPE OF THE CIA A. This CIA shall have a term of five years from the Effective Date. The Effective Date shall be the date on which the final signatory signs this CIA. Each one- year period, beginning with the one-year period following the Effective Date, shall be referred to as a “Reporting Period.”

  • STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY The University of Minnesota and the Union are committed to recognizing and acknowledging the healthy and positive diversity that we have on the University campuses. Further, the parties recognize that all employees have the right to work in a productive environment in which there is no verbal or physical intimidation, or discrimination or harassment based on the criteria provided in Section 1, Discrimination Prohibition, and Section 2, Sexual Harassment. It is in this spirit that the parties agree to the provisions of this Article. This statement shall not be grievable nor shall either party use this Section as evidence or argument in arbitration.
