OVER THE COUNTER DRUGS. 34 The use of prescription or over-the-counter drugs may affect an employee's ability to perform safely or efficiently. Studies have shown that up to 20 percent of workers may be taking medication at any one time. 35 There are several types of drugs which may affect performance including:
OVER THE COUNTER DRUGS. Those drugs generally available without a prescription from a medical doctor and are limited to those drugs that impair judgment or an employee’s ability to safely perform their duties.
OVER THE COUNTER DRUGS. Any drug or drug product that does not require a physician’s prescription for possession. (Aspirin, mild cough syrup, cough drops, eye drops, etc.)
OVER THE COUNTER DRUGS. The costs of medication, or any other substances, purchased on prescription when such medication and/or substances are available as over the counter purchases.
OVER THE COUNTER DRUGS. Any drug for which the use, possession or sale by any person is not prohibited by either Federal or State Law and for which no valid prescription is required.
OVER THE COUNTER DRUGS. No abuse or misuse of any over-the-counter drug is permitted. Because of some drugs do show up in urinalysis, the Scatter-Site Residential Counselor should be notified when such medications are used.
