Common use of Overtime/Call Back Accumulation Clause in Contracts

Overtime/Call Back Accumulation. (Applicable to full-time employees only) Where an employee has worked and accumulated approved overtime hours (other than overtime hours related to paid holidays) or has accumulated hours for Call Back up to a maximum, then such employee shall have the option of electing payment at the applicable overtime rate or time off equivalent to the applicable overtime rate (i.e. where applicable rate is one and one-half (1 ½) times, then time off shall be at one and one-half (1 ½) times or where the applicable rate is two (2) times, then time off shall be at two (2) times). Where an employee chooses the latter option, such time off must be taken within the period set out in the Local Provisions Appendix, or payment in accordance with the former option shall be made. Further, such time off must be taken at a time mutually agreeable to the Hospital and the employee. The maximum for purposes of overtime/call back accumulation and the scheduling of time off shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.
