Common use of Paid Jury or Court Witness Leave Clause in Contracts

Paid Jury or Court Witness Leave. The Employer shall grant leave of absence without loss of seniority benefits to an Employee who serves as a juror or witness in any court and who is unable to perform regularly-scheduled work. The Employer shall pay such an Employee the difference between his normal earnings and the amount received from the Court for said duty, including expenses. The Employee will present proof of service and the amount of remuneration received from the court. Time spent by an Employee required to serve as a court witness in any matter arising out of his Employment shall be considered as time worked at the appropriate rate of pay.
