Common use of Paid Leave of Absence Defined Clause in Contracts

Paid Leave of Absence Defined. A paid leave of absence shall mean salary continuance for the employee’s normal assignment on the day of the paid absence, with full credit for all District benefits to which the employee is entitled, including service credit. An employee regularly employed in a part-time assignment shall be paid for compensable leaves on the basis of the average number of hours worked, excluding overtime, during the quarter preceding the quarter in which such leave occurs.
