Payment for Overtime. Payment for overtime shall be at the rate of one and one half (1 ½) the Employee's basic straight time rate calculated to the nearest fifteen (15) minutes for all approved time worked (exclusive of one-half hour each day for lunch). Overtime pay may be earned as follows: (a) When authorized to be on duty immediately before or after the regular shift. (b) When called in for duty on an off-shift to cover a complete shift or part thereof, i.e., normal day off. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work less than the normal full-time hours of work per week shall not qualify for overtime payment when called in for duty on an assigned day off until they have worked in excess of a normal seven and one half (7 ½) hour shift or in excess of thirty-seven and one half (37 ½) hours per week. (d) Both parties recognize that there shall be no pyramiding of overtime or other premium rates. (e) Employees shall not be required to lay-off on a regularly scheduled day of work in order to equalize any overtime worked. (f) Time off in lieu may be taken on a mutually agreed basis between the Employee and the Employer; such time off will be the equivalent of the premium rate the employee has earned for working overtime. Such lieu time shall be limited to 25 hours of overtime worked (i.e. 37.5 hours equivalent straight time off).

Payment for Overtime. Payment Every effort will be made by employees to perform their duties within their regularly scheduled hours of work. Overtime work shall be performed only in cases of emergency and when authorized by an employee's immediate supervisor or department head. No payment shall be made for overtime work unless such payment is authorized in writing. At the direction of the General Crew Chief, a work crew engaged in an assignment will complete the assignment even if overtime work is required, unless a member of the crew notifies the Crew Chief prior to one (1) hour before the end of the shift of his/her unavailability to work overtime on that day. The following hours of work, when authorized as aforesaid, are overtime hours and shall be paid for at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the hourly rate: a. All hours worked over eight (8) hours in one day and over forty (40) hours in any one week. There shall be no duplication of overtime for the same hours worked. b. All hours worked by an employee on his or her normal day off, provided that such employee shall have worked his or her regular days or received leaves of absence with pay (as provided in Article VIII hereof) during a work week aggregating a total of forty (40) hours. c. When overtime is required and authorized, the Authority shall endeavor to equitably distribute such overtime work among qualified employees within the job classification in which the overtime is worked. d. There will be only one (1) official roster for each classification and all hours will be accounted for on this roster. The authorized roster will be posted at the rate of one location where the employees in the classification concerned can readily find and one half (1 ½) the Employee's basic straight time rate calculated to the nearest read it. e. An employee who has worked fifteen (15) minutes or more consecutive hours in any twenty- four (24) hour period will cease to be eligible to be called for all approved overtime until such time worked as he or she has been off work for five (exclusive 5) hours. Nothing in this clause shall be construed as prohibiting the employee from continuing to work on a straight-time assignment until that assignment is complete. Except in an emergency, no employee will work more than nineteen (19) hours of oneovertime in a twenty-half four (24) hour each day for lunch). Overtime pay period. f. (c) When an employee who has completed her regularly scheduled tour and left the Centre is called in for duty outside her regularly scheduled working hours for a short period of time to cover an emergency situation as determined by the employer, the employee will be paid a minimum of four (4) hours pay work. This section is not effective for additional time worked either at the beginning or end of each shift. h. Employees absent from a scheduled shift due to sick leave shall not be eligible to work overtime rate, except to the extent that such four until sixteen (416) hour period overlaps or extends into her hours after their regularly scheduled shift. In such case, she will receive time and one-half (1 ½) her regular straight time hourly rate for actual hours worked up to the commencement of her regular shift. The Employer will also pay for transportation as defined in its policies. In no case will the Employer pay for more than one call-in within the same four (4) hour period.
