Common use of Periods of Absence Clause in Contracts

Periods of Absence. Allowable periods of absence caused by industrial accident or illness shall not be considered a break in service. During such periods of leave, the employee shall return to the former or comparable position within his or her credentials and qualifications when able to do so except that any employee on leave remains subject to the transfer and reassignment provision of this Agreement.
