Common use of PERSONAL INJURY BENEFITS Clause in Contracts

PERSONAL INJURY BENEFITS. Whenever a Teacher is absent from school as a result of personal injury caused by an accident occurring in the course of his/her employment, he/she will be paid his/her full salary, less the amount of any workmen's compensation award made for temporary disability due to said injury. For the first thirty (30) work days, no part of such absence will be charged to his/her accumulated sick leave. Thereafter, the teacher may elect to use accumulated sick time or the sick leave bank (if eligible) to make up the difference between any workers’ compensation and his/her full salary. For injuries resulting from assault or which are construction related, a teacher will be paid his/her full salary, less the amount of any workmen's compensation award made for temporary disability due to said injury and no part of such absence will be charged to his/her accumulated sick leave.
