Personal Leave of Absence. A. A personal leave of absence not to exceed six (6) months for compelling personal reasons may be granted by an if, in the opinion of the supervisor, staffing and workload permit. Normally a personal leave will not be granted for a period exceeding three (3) months. In exceptional cases and subject to the approval of the department head and the Director of Employment and Employee Services, a personal leave may be extended for a period of time equal to the employee’s Deputy or designee length of continuous service up to a maximum of one (1) year for urgent or substantial personal reasons.
