Common use of PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND APPAREL Clause in Contracts

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND APPAREL. 17.01 The Employer will furnish employees with all necessary personal protective equipment (including fall arrest harnesses and associated gear, safety glasses, etc.) if and when required. Said equipment shall remain the property of the Employer. Any worn out safety equipment will be replaced by the Employer upon presentation of the worn equipment. The employees shall be held responsible for loss or improper maintenance of Employer furnished items, including personal protective equipment, rain gear and safety equipment, in which case employees may, at the discretion of the Employer, be subject to disciplinary action. 17.02 Employees will be responsible to acquire and maintain the required tools as listed in Schedule “B”. Tools that are lost, or worn or damaged due to improper care must be replaced by the employee. All required tools as listed in Schedule “B” shall be made available for inspection by the Employer upon his request. 17.03 The Employer shall supply all remaining tools and equipment required for the proper installation of all work to be performed.
