Pipeline Controller an employee who has current accreditation with Shell Logistics as a Pipeline Controller and is regularly required to act in that capacity;

Pipeline Controller. Skills & Experience This position requires a sound understanding of general pipeline operations, including relevant mechanical, electrical and instrumentation principles and practices. This position will also require a sound grasp of mathematics. An appointee to this position will normally have served for a time as a Pipeline Technician at other than trainee level or displays equivalent skills and will normally have practical experience in the operation of pipelines and facilities. The appointee will demonstrate an aptitude for interaction with computer systems and will preferably have prior training with computer systems. This position may require that a current First Aid Certificate be maintained, at the discretion of the Team Leader. Training This position will receive training in the following areas: Operation of the pipeline SCADA and communications systems. Basic hydrocarbon chemistry and physics. Metering and measurement principles and practices. Computer system operation including relevant software. Basic maintenance of the pipeline SCADA and communications systems. Responsibilities The position will assume responsibility for control of pipeline function at all times while on duty. This position will normally be without direct supervision and will be required to assist in the guidance of more junior operators.
