Common use of Political Office Leave Clause in Contracts

Political Office Leave. Any seniority employee who is elected to the Federal, Provincial or Municipal Government will be granted a leave of absence without pay or benefits to fulfil his/her term of office. A written request for such leave of absence must be presented to the Employer at least four (4) weeks in advance of when the leave of absence is to commence. Employees who are granted a leave pursuant to this sub-article will have their seniority accrue during such leave of absence. An employee returning to work from such leave of absence will inform his/her Employer at least three (3) weeks in advance.
