All Bargaining. Unit Members who have been granted three (3) one (1) year contracts by the Board of Education of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District will then receive a three (3) year contract. If an administrator or professional staff member changes administrative positions within the District while employed under a multi-year contract, the balance of years of his/her existing contract shall become the initial duration of his/her new contracted position (i.e. an assistant principal in year 1 of 3 of his/her contract who is promoted to a principal’s position, shall receive an initial 2 year contract as a principal). The Superintendent may make exceptions if necessary.

All Bargaining. Unit Members shall be credited with current sick leave at the beginning of the school year to a maximum of ten (10) days with credit to apply after reporting for duty on the first contract day, excluding Labor Day, of each year. Xxxx leave shall be earned and accumulated at the rate of 1-1/4 days per month of employment, to a maximum of 15 days per year. Those terminating employment before completion of their contract and/or employed for parts of a school year will be credited at the rate of 1-1/4 days per month served. Accumulated sick leave is available only after current annual sick leave credit is used. The accumulation of sick leave shall be unlimited.
All Bargaining. Unit Members who retire after the conclusion of the school year will be eligible to continue health care insurance through the months of July and August as per the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. For example, Bargaining Unit Members who retire at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 school year will be eligible to continue health care insurance through July 2022 and August 2022 as per the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Service breaks six months or greater shall not be considered continuous and any service prior to the six month break shall not count towards the employees Years of Service for purpose of placement on the Pay Tables. 20.1.2 Wage increases are implemented on the first day of the first pay period of each fiscal year this agreement is effective. 20.1.3 Established classification proficiency and promotional standards shall be maintained. 20.1.4 Movement to the next step on the Minimum Pay Table requires the employee to achieve the required minimum number of whole years of full time qualified service in the Department by June 30 of the effective year (there shall be no rounding up to qualify for any increases). See below for examples of how to calculate eligibility for movement through the Minimum Pay Table based on length of service within the classification series. Example 1: Family Service Specialist (“FSS”) at Pay Grade (“Pay Grade”) 10 will have 5 whole years of qualified service as of June 15, 2021. On July 1, 2021, the employee will be eligible to move to the next steps (5, 6,7,8,9) according to the Minimum Pay Table and receive an increase, if any, to the established Minimum Pay Table amount for FSS PG10, 5-9 years of service. Example 2: FSS at PG 10 will have 5 whole years of qualified service as of July 15, 2021. On July 1, 2021 the employee will not be eligible to move to the next steps (5, 6,7,8,9) according to the Minimum Pay Table and receive an increase, if any, to the established Minimum Pay Table amount for FSS PG10, 5-9 years of service. Example 3: FSS at PG 10 will have 4.75 years of qualified service as of June 15, 2021. On July 1, 2021 the employee will not be eligible to move to the next steps (5, 6,7,8,9) according to the Minimum Pay Table and receive an increase, if any, to the established Minimum Pay Table amount for FSS PG10, 5-9 years of service. 20.1...

All Bargaining. Unit Members shall be required to perform bus duty, of not more than one-half (1/2) hour in any given day, on an equitable, rotating schedule prepared by the Building Principal. The Bargaining Unit Members performing this duty may leave at any time after the last bus leaves. If the last bus has not left within twenty (20) minutes of dismissal, the Bargaining Unit Member must notify the Building Principal or his/her designee. In the event that the last bus has not left in the allotted one-half (1/2) hour period, the Bargaining Unit Member performing this duty may leave once the students are under the supervision of the office of the Building Administrator.

Before commencing any questioning, the City will also make a reasonable effort to accommodate the schedule of any Guild representative or Guild attorney that a Bargaining Unit Member asks to be present during questioning, so that the representative or attorney of the Bargaining Unit Member’s choice will have a reasonable opportunity to be present during the questioning given the particular circumstances presented.
