Probationary Unit Member Observations. There shall be a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of six (6) 12 observations of at least thirty (30) minutes duration. At least one (1) observation shall be announced two (2) 13 work days in advance. Completed observation forms shall be transmitted to the evaluatee within five (5) 14 work days of the observation. Extraordinary circumstances may require more observations and must be 15 declared and described in writing by the evaluator. The evaluatee must be notified if these extra observations 16 are needed. The evaluatee will receive written notification in advance for each subsequent observation.

  • Formal Observations At least two (2) formal observations per year are required for ancillary staff members in Track I, at least sixty (60) days apart. In the case of a first-year or second-year Track I ancillary staff employee, at least one (1) observation shall be made prior to the ancillary staff employee’s mid- year progress report. Annual evaluations shall include in-room observations of all aspects of the ancillary staff employee’s instructional practice. Observations shall be conducted by the ancillary staff employee’s supervisor. An observation shall be at least one (1) complete lesson, based on the lesson plans provided by the ancillary staff employee. Observations shall be scheduled at least five (5) work days in advance for a three-day window in which the observation would take place. If an observation needs to be rescheduled, the ancillary staff employee shall be notified of the date of the rescheduled observation no later than one (1) day prior to the end of the week in which the observation should have taken place, so as to accommodate lesson planning. A pre-observation conference shall be held to review the ancillary staff employee’s IDP and those areas which might be observed. All monitoring or observation of the work of the teacher shall be conducted openly and with the knowledge of the ancillary staff employee. The parties agree that during an observation every effort will be made to maintain the normal teaching-learning process. An observation shall include assessment of the ancillary staff employee’s skill and ability in the observed domains of the “Framework for Professional Practice”. A post-observation conference shall be held within five (5) work days of the observation unless the ancillary staff employee agrees in writing to extend the time to conduct the conference, not to exceed thirty (30) days. In the event the meeting does not occur as a result of administrator unavailability within thirty-five (35) days of the observation, negative comments or concerns shall be excluded from the observation. The ancillary staff employee teacher shall bring a completed Post-Observation Reflection Form to this conference, and the administrator shall bring the completed Classroom Observation Form. The ancillary staff employee teacher and the administrator shall each retain copies of both forms. As a result of this post-observation conference, identified areas of concern, together with suggested ways in which the ancillary staff employee is to improve, and identification of assistance to be given, may be addressed in the teacher’s IDP.

  • Committee Operation a. The committee shall be chaired jointly by a committee member from the Association and a committee member appointed by the Superintendent and/or his/her designee. b. Members of the committee shall receive training in all aspects of OTES, the state adopted evaluation framework, the standards for the teaching profession, teacher of record, shared attribution, and teacher-student data linkage prior to service on the committee. c. The committee shall establish, by mutual agreement, a meeting calendar, tasks for the committee to complete, and timelines for the completion of specific tasks. d. Committee agendas shall be developed jointly by the co-chairpersons of the committee. e. All decisions of the committee shall be achieved by consensus. f. At the initial committee meeting, the committee will develop the ground rules by which the committee will operate. These ground rules will be read aloud at the commencement of every meeting and will be reviewed annually. g. At each meeting, the committee shall select an individual to act as the official scribe for that meeting. h. Members of the committee shall receive release time for committee work and training. i. Minutes of meetings shall be distributed to committee members, SSLTA President, and District Superintendent within seven (7) days following meetings of the committee. j. The committee may establish sub-committees to assist with their work. k. Sub-committees shall be jointly appointed by the Superintendent/designee and the Association President/designee. l. The committee shall be authorized to utilize a consultant(s) (examples include, but are not limited to, educational consultants, software consultants, credentialing trainers, etc.) as it deems appropriate. The cost, if any, shall be borne by the Board.

  • Management meetings 31.1 Either the Engineer or the Contractor may require the other to attend a management meeting. The business of a management meeting shall be to review the plans for remaining work and to deal with matters raised in accordance with the early warning procedure. 31.2 The Engineer shall record the business of management meetings and is to provide copies of his record to those attending the meeting and to the Employer. The responsibility of the parties for actions to be taken is to be decided by the Engineer either at the management meeting or after the management meeting and stated in writing to all who attended the meeting.

  • Labour Management Meetings The committee meeting shall normally be held every second month however, either party may call a meeting of the Joint Labour Management Committee. The meeting shall be held at a time and place fixed by mutual agreement but no later than fourteen (14) calendar days after the initial request, unless mutually agreed.

  • UNIT WORK When the Employer deems it necessary in order to carry out a mission and operations of the campus, the Employer may contract out work provided that the contracting out does not displace bargaining unit employees or reduces their scheduled hours. The Maine Community College shall notify MSEA-SEIU when contracting out is to be implemented. MSEA-SEIU may request to meet and confer on the impact on contracting out such work. The Maine Community College shall meet with MSEA- SEIU within thirty (30) days of such request. Notice to MSEA-SEIU shall be not later than one hundred twenty (120) days prior to the commencement of the contracting out. In emergency circumstances, when the College enters into a contract under which contracting out will commence in less than thirty (30) days, when possible, notification shall be made two (2) weeks prior to implementing the contract, but in no event later than ten (10) working days after the commencement of the contracting out. Prior to the meeting and conferring on contracting out, the Maine Community College System will provide MSEA-SEIU all relevant written information, including copies of bids received, any cost analysis used by the College to evaluate the need for contracting out, and all other relevant material used by the College in making its decision regarding contracting out. Contracting out of the type of work normally performed by existing bargaining unit members for limited periods not to exceed six (6) months shall be allowed without the Union’s agreement if one or more of the following conditions are present at the affected campus or other non-campus location (such as the System Office in Augusta): 1. The skills and abilities or legally required licenses or equipment needed to perform the work are not available within the bargaining unit. 2. The opportunity to do the work is declined by any qualified and available bargaining unit employees. “Qualified” as used in this Article is defined as having special skills, abilities, license or equipment necessary to perform the work.

  • Performance Meetings During a meeting on performance, the parties will: (a) discuss the causes of a Performance Factor; (b) discuss the impact of a Performance Factor on the local health system and the risk resulting from non-performance; and (c) determine the steps to be taken to remedy or mitigate the impact of the Performance Factor (the “Performance Improvement Process”).

  • Performance of Bargaining Unit Work No person whose regular job is not in the bargaining unit will work on any job for which rates are established by this Agreement, except for the purpose of instruction, experimentation, management training, in which case trainees shall not displace or replace any employee in the aforesaid classifications except in cases of emergency when regular employees are not available.
