Formal Observations. At least two (2) formal observations per year are required for ancillary staff members in Track I, at least sixty (60) days apart. In the case of a first-year or second-year Track I ancillary staff employee, at least one (1) observation shall be made prior to the ancillary staff employee’s mid- year progress report. Annual evaluations shall include in-room observations of all aspects of the ancillary staff employee’s instructional practice. Observations shall be conducted by the ancillary staff employee’s supervisor. An observation shall be at least one (1) complete lesson, based on the lesson plans provided by the ancillary staff employee. Observations shall be scheduled at least five (5) work days in advance for a three-day window in which the observation would take place. If an observation needs to be rescheduled, the ancillary staff employee shall be notified of the date of the rescheduled observation no later than one (1) day prior to the end of the week in which the observation should have taken place, so as to accommodate lesson planning. A pre-observation conference shall be held to review the ancillary staff employee’s IDP and those areas which might be observed. All monitoring or observation of the work of the teacher shall be conducted openly and with the knowledge of the ancillary staff employee. The parties agree that during an observation every effort will be made to maintain the normal teaching-learning process. An observation shall include assessment of the ancillary staff employee’s skill and ability in the observed domains of the “Framework for Professional Practice”. A post-observation conference shall be held within five (5) work days of the observation unless the ancillary staff employee agrees in writing to extend the time to conduct the conference, not to exceed thirty (30) days. In the event the meeting does not occur as a result of administrator unavailability within thirty-five (35) days of the observation, negative comments or concerns shall be excluded from the observation. The ancillary staff employee teacher shall bring a completed Post-Observation Reflection Form to this conference, and the administrator shall bring the completed Classroom Observation Form. Formal Observations. All formal observations shall be reduced to writing or provided in 29 electronic format and shall be discussed with the teacher within ten (10) days of the observation.
Formal Observations. The supervising Xxxx for each full-time faculty member in the department may conduct one or more unannounced classroom visitations each year. The supervising Xxxx for each library and counselor faculty may conduct one or more unannounced visitations in the faculty member’s workplace each year. The observation should be at least one contact hour in duration. No formal observation of a faculty member shall be conducted covertly. Faculty teaching distance learning courses will provide the xxxx with “student level” access to their course(s) upon request for evaluation purposes.
Formal Observations. 1. All formal classroom observations of work performance shall be conducted openly and with full knowledge of the Unit Member.
2. When formal observations are used to obtain evaluation data they shall be conducted in the following manner:
a. Formal observations may begin as early as October 15 and shall be completed no later than May 1. Those teachers with permanent status may elect to start the Formal Evaluation process prior to October 15.
b. Probationary and Temporary Unit Members will have at least one formal observation by December 1.
c. The evaluator shall schedule the formal observation at least fifteen (15) working days in advance.
d. At least 5 working days prior to observation, Unit Member must schedule and attend pre-observation conference to explain the lesson plan. Unit Member will provide the evaluator with a written lesson plan (see form in Appendices), at least two working days prior to the evaluation.
e. The evaluator will not interrupt instruction during the observation.
f. Within seven (7) working days following any such observational visitation, the evaluator shall meet with the Unit Member to discuss the observation and to complete a written report of the observation. (See Formal Observation: Written Report Form Appendix Section 1C). The written observation report shall include commendations and recommendations for improvement. Deficiencies, if any, shall be noted, along with supporting evidence.
g. The written observation report shall contain specific recommendations to assist the Unit Member in correcting cited deficiencies.
h. Upon the evaluator’s completion of the written report, the Unit Member shall receive a copy of the form. The Unit Member shall acknowledge the evaluator’s formal observation report by signing and returning it. This signature does not acknowledge agreement with the formal observation report, but only that a copy was received and read. Within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the formal observation report, the Unit Member may respond to the evaluator’s comments. The original copy of the observation report, including the Unit Member’s signature and the Unit Member’s comments, if any, will be sent to the Superintendent for the Unit Member’s personnel file, and a copy will be maintained by the principal.
3. No Unit Member may receive a “Satisfactory – with improvement needed” or an “Unsatisfactory – does not meet standards” unless two (2) or more formal observations
Formal Observations. Pre-observation Conference Length of Observation: Minimum of twenty continuous minutes Post-observation Conference: Except for unforeseen circumstances, no later than three working days after observation. The site administrator will offer support, methods and/or ideas as needed. In addition, informal classroom visits by the administrator throughout the year will xxxxxx dialogue and support.
Formal Observations. All teachers shall be observed at least twice in the performance of their assigned duties. Total observation time for each employee for each school year shall not be less than 60 minutes. Prior to one formal observation, the teacher and the evaluator shall mutually agree to the date, time, and location for said observation.
Formal Observations. The total annual observation time must be at least sixty (60) minutes. One observation must be a minimum of thirty (30) minutes. If mutually agreed, the remaining thirty (30) minutes of required observation time may be broken into smaller increments of no less than ten (10) minutes. Unless mutually agreed, observations shall not take place on the day before Thanksgiving, winter or spring breaks. All formal observations will be scheduled for a mutually agreed upon time between the employee and the evaluator.
Formal Observations. 1. Prior to each formal assessment of personnel on an annual contract, no fewer than one (1) observation in the classroom or equivalent work location, of no less than 30 minutes will be conducted by the principal, director or his/her designee during the first semester of the contract period. The 30 minute time period may be shortened by mutual agreement between the principal and the affected employee. All formal observations of employees for the purpose of assessment shall be conducted openly with the full knowledge of the affected employee. Any classroom observations or other factors which are used for assessment purposes shall be included on the formal assessment and discussed with the employee. No formal observations shall be conducted during the last week of the school year.
2. Principals and designee may use the FPMS structured observation instrument in formal observations.
Formal Observations. All formal observations shall be preceded by a conference between the evaluator and the teacher in order for the teacher to explain plans and objectives for the work situation to be observed.
Formal Observations. 10.2.10.1 A formal observation is a classroom visitation by the evaluator of at least 30 uninterrupted minutes, resulting in a written observation record and a post-observation conference within five school days. The scheduling of a formal observation will be collaboratively determined by the evaluator and the employee being evaluated.
10.2.10.2 A post-observation conference is a required meeting between the evaluator and the licensed employee within five school days of a formal observation for the purpose of discussing the observation and other factors related to the employee’s performance.
10.2.10.3 Written record of the formal observation must be provided to the licensed employee.
10.2.10.4 Non-probationary licensed employees shall receive at least two formal documented observations, followed by observation conferences, each academic year unless the previous year’s overall performance rating is effective or highly effective and no performance concerns exist. Upon mutual consent of the licensed employee and the evaluator, one formal observation may be conducted.
