PROFESSIONAL CONTINUING EDUCATION. Nurses may be allowed, but not limited to, twenty-four (24) professional continuing education hours, if requested, and in compliance with the provisions of this section. Professional continuing education is defined as those educational offerings which enhance the clinical skills of the nurse. On an equitable basis, the Hospital may provide paid leave, reimbursement for registration fees, and travel expenses to a registered nurse to attend elective educational programs which qualify for continuing education credits, meet clinical area identified patient care objectives, and are recommended by the Department Manager and approved by the Chief Nurse Officer.
