PROFESSIONAL DUES DEDUCTION. Payroll deductions for the payment of Association dues (DEA, Central OEA/NEA, OEA and NEA) and UEP affiliated professional organization(s) dues shall be provided by the Board in keeping with the following: 33.1. A professional staff member who wishes to authorize payroll deduction shall submit a written authorization for payroll deductions on a form provided by the Association to the Board's Treasurer of any year the staff member begins payroll deductions under this Agreement. Unless revoked or changed in accordance with procedures contained herein, an authorization shall continue from year to year. 33.2. The Association shall notify the Board's Treasurer as to the total amount of dues to be deducted per member. Such notification shall be in the form of a letter signed by the Association President or the Association Treasurer by September 1. 33.3. Within fourteen (14) calendar days following completion of each deduction, the Board's Treasurer shall remit the amount which was deducted to the Association Treasurer in check form made payable to "The Dublin Educators' Association." 33.4. Authorized payroll deductions shall be made in equal installments beginning with the November payroll month and continuing each month through June 30. 33.5. If a professional staff member ends his/her employment for reasons other than death of the member or takes a leave of absence before all installments have been deducted, the unpaid balance shall be deducted from the final payroll check if the amount of the check is sufficient to cover the unpaid balance and remitted to the Association Treasurer as provided above. 33.6. A professional staff member who wishes to add or delete membership dues deduction for any UEP affiliate organization(s), where a deletion does not amount to revocation of the entire amount being deducted from dues at the time of the deletion, shall do so only during September and October of any given year. The Association shall inform professional staff members of these options and to process any changes on revised authorization cards. The Association shall submit all revised authorization cards to the Board's Treasurer by October 10 of each year. 33.7. The Association shall promptly transmit any new authorization it receives after October 1 to the Board's Treasurer, who shall attempt to begin deductions with the next payroll, but in no case shall deductions begin later than the second payroll after the Board's Treasurer receives the authorization form. The total amount to be deducted shall be equally divided by the number of pay periods that individual staff member has remaining in his/her pay plan for that contractual year through June 30. 33.8. A professional staff member who wishes to revoke his/her payroll deduction authorization may do so between September 1 and September 30 of any given year. It shall be the responsibility of the professional staff member to notify the Association and the Board's Treasurer in writing. The Board shall continue to honor present dues deduction authorizations executed by the employee in favor of the Association unless revoked by the staff member as stated herein. 33.9. No employee organization other than the Association shall be entitled to payroll deductions of membership dues. 33.10. The Association agrees to indemnify and save the Board harmless against any and all claims that may arise from, or by reason of action taken by the Board in reliance upon, any authorization forms submitted by the Association to the Board.

PROFESSIONAL DUES DEDUCTION. Payroll deductions A. The Board agrees to deduct from the salaries of teachers covered by this Agreement membership dues for the payment Association. On this same deduction, the Board further agrees to deduct from the salaries of Association teachers, membership dues (DEAon behalf of the New York State United Teachers, Central OEA/NEAand the American Federation of Teachers, OEA and NEA) and UEP affiliated professional organization(s) provided, however, that such teachers shall have authorized deduction for membership dues of the Association. All dues deduction authorizations shall be provided in writing and signed by the teacher to whom it applies. B. The Association shall advise the Board in keeping with the following: 33.1. A professional staff member who wishes to authorize payroll deduction shall submit a written authorization for payroll deductions on a form provided by the Association to the Board's Treasurer of any year the staff member begins payroll deductions under this Agreement. Unless revoked or changed in accordance with procedures contained herein, an authorization shall continue from year to year. 33.2. The Association shall notify the Board's Treasurer writing as to the total amount of such membership dues and the sums to be deducted per member. Such notification shall be in the form of a letter signed by the Association President or the Association Treasurer by September 1. 33.3. Within fourteen (14) calendar days following completion of each deduction, the Board's Treasurer shall remit the amount which was deducted to the Association Treasurer in check form made payable to "The Dublin Educators' Association." 33.4. Authorized payroll deductions shall be made in equal installments beginning with the November payroll month and continuing each month through June 30. 33.5. If a professional staff member ends his/her employment for reasons other than death of the member or takes a leave of absence before all installments have been deducted, the unpaid balance shall be deducted from the final payroll check if the amount regular paychecks of the check is sufficient to cover teachers who have authorized the unpaid balance and remitted deductions. The Board shall remit to the Association Treasurer within ten (10) days following such deduction the aggregate sum thereof, and shall make available to the Association such payroll records as provided abovewill enable the Association to determine the persons for whom the deduction has been made and the amount deducted for each person. 33.6. A professional staff member who wishes to add or delete membership dues C. The aforesaid deduction authorizations shall be irrevocable during the term of this Agreement and shall continue in force and effect for any UEP affiliate organization(s)each successive year thereafter, where a deletion does not amount to revocation of unless the entire amount being deducted teacher notifies both the Board and the Association in writing, by registered mail, during the period from dues at September 1st through September 10th, that he/she desires that the time of Board discontinue the deletion, shall do so only during September and October of any given year. Deductions for New York State Retirement Systems loans, who shall attempt to begin deductions with the next payrollU.S. Savings Bonds, but in no case shall deductions begin later than the second payroll after the Board's Treasurer receives the authorization form. The total amount to be deducted Teachers Federal Credit Union, and NYSUT Member Benefits Trust, and VOTE/COPE shall be equally divided by the number of pay periods that individual staff member has remaining made for all teachers who authorize such deductions in hiswriting. PROFESSIONAL DUES DEDUCTION. Payroll A. The Board shall make payroll deductions for the payment of Association membership dues (DEAin T.C.E.A., Central OEA/NEAInc., OEA if individually and NEA) and UEP affiliated professional organization(s) dues shall be provided voluntarily authorized by the Board in keeping with the following: 33.1. Forms submitted after September 30 shall go into effect as soon as administratively feasible and the deductions shall be pro-rated for the number of pay periods remaining so that deductions for all teachers shall be identical. C. The teacher’s authorization shall be irrevocable for a period of one school year and shall be valid as long as such signatories are employed in Talbot County Public Schools, unless they countermand it in writing to the Association with a copy to the Board prior to September 30 of any year the staff member begins payroll deductions under this Agreement. Unless revoked or changed in accordance with procedures contained herein, an authorization shall continue from year to school year. 33.2. The Association shall notify the Board's Treasurer as to the total amount of dues to be deducted per member. Such notification shall be in the form of a letter signed by the Association President or the Association Treasurer by September 1. 33.3. Within fourteen (14) calendar days following completion of each deduction, the Board's Treasurer shall remit the amount which was deducted to the Association Treasurer in check form made payable to "The Dublin Educators' Association." 33.4. Authorized payroll deductions D. Deductions shall be made in equal installments beginning with the November payroll month first pay period in September and continuing each month through June 30ending with the second pay period in June, except for those teachers newly employed after September 10, in which case their deductions shall be in equal installments ending with the second pay period in June. 33.5E. In order that dues can be deducted any year, the Association shall verify, in writing, to the Board by August 15th, the current rate of membership dues in T.C.E.A., Inc. and the Board shall transmit all dues deducted to T.C.E.A’s treasurer as expediently as possible. F. If the Board is aware of, and in the event of, a teacher’s resignation, termination, or leave of absence during the school year, except in case of death or retirement the balance of the annual dues authorized shall be withheld from his/her final salary installment, provided this information has been printed on the original enrollment forms. If a professional staff member ends his/her employment for reasons other than death of teacher’s final salary payment is not enough to meet the member or takes a leave of absence before all installments have been deductedremaining dues responsibility, the unpaid balance collection of such monies shall be deducted from rest entirely with the final payroll check if the amount of the check is sufficient to cover the unpaid balance and remitted to the Association Treasurer as provided aboveAssociation. 33.6. H. Upon returning from board approved leave, employees who were previously members of the Association shall have the appropriate dues deductions automatically reinstated. I. The Board shall notify the Association whenever a member retires or resigns. J. The Board will furnish the President of the Association an electronic copy of the official roster of the certified employees in the county upon request for official Association business use only. The roster shall include their names, job titles, and building assignments. During the school year the Board shall provide the Association with any changes or updates to the roster when requested.

The amount of dues specified by the Association shall submit will be deducted from each teacher's biweekly paycheck as soon after authorization is received as is administratively possible, but no later than the first paycheck of October each school year provided the Association submits all revised authorization cards to the Board's Treasurer pertinent dues information by October 10 September 8 of each school year. 33.7B.) Any teacher employed after the start of the school term shall authorize dues deduction by presenting an authorization card to the Board within thirty (30) days after date of employment. The Association shall promptly transmit any new authorization it receives after October 1 combined annual membership dues will be prorated to the Board's Treasurer, who shall attempt to begin deductions with the next payroll, but in no case shall deductions begin later than the second payroll after the Board's Treasurer receives the authorization form. The total amount to be deducted shall be equally divided by the number of pay periods that individual staff member has remaining in his/her pay plan for that contractual year through June 30. 33.8. A professional staff member who wishes to revoke his/her payroll deduction C.) Such authorization may do so between September 1 and September 30 shall not be revocable for a period, which is the lesser of any given year. It shall be one (1) year or the responsibility remainder of the professional staff member to term of this Agreement. On receipt of dues revocation, the Board will notify the Association and the Board's Treasurer in writingwriting of such dues revocation. The revocation shall be implemented in the payroll period following the payroll period in which notice is received subject to the provisions of this Section. If a teacher resigns from the employment of the Board prior to termination of the effective period of the then current authorization, the Board shall continue to honor present deduct the unpaid portion of such authorization from the teacher's final paycheck. D.) All dues deduction authorizations executed deducted by the employee in favor Board shall be remitted to the treasurer of the Association unless revoked by the staff member as stated hereinno later than thirty (30) days after such deductions are made. 33.9.
