Meeting Academic Needs of Students. Because of the teacher shortage in Indiana, it is important to the School Corporation to retain all returning teachers employed by the School Corporation in order to provide educational continuity to students. This base salary increase will allow all returning teachers employed by the School District to receive a salary adjusted in comparison to the starting base salaries of new teachers and will therefore aid in the retention of all returning teachers to provide educational continuity to students. Teachers meeting this factor will receive $500.00 added to their base salary. shall receive a base pay increase of $700 to their 2019-20 salary. Any back pay will be distributed in one retroactive check and the remainder divided among the remaining pays. Any base salary increase received by a teacher pursuant to this provision is attributable to the following two factors: 50% of the payment is attributable to the teacher’s evaluation rating not being needs improvement or ineffective for the prior school year and 50% of the payment is attributable to the teacher completing an additional year of service.
