Common use of Professional Leave of Absence Clause in Contracts

Professional Leave of Absence. 34 Leaves of absence (Appendix F-1) without pay or benefits may be granted for a period 35 not to exceed one (1) year, subject to renewal for a second year. Applications shall be 36 completed and filed in the Superintendent's office not later than April 1 of any year. 37 Requests where approval is routine and/or pro forma may be recommended to the School 38 Board by the Superintendent or his/her designee, with subsequent notice of the request 39 and recommendation then being given to the Association. Requests where approval is 40 not routine and/or not pro forma, shall be brought to the Association President for a 41 possible joint recommendation to the Board. The final decision on Professional Leave 42 recommendations will be made by the Board at a regular Board meeting. 43
