If the employee is required to participate in jury duty or is using a bereavement day for a scheduled district professional development day, the employee would not have to make up the day. If an employee uses a sick day shall be brought for a scheduled district professional development day, the employee may submit a physician’s note to the principal's attention at least fortyAdministration office within seventy-eight two (4872) hours of the day absent in advance order to pay the employee for the day missed or as soon as possible prior the employee must submit a professional development proposal to the building principal to be approved to make-up for the day absent. Any professional development related to the teacher subject area taught and/or school/district improvement plans will be approved. The employee must complete the professional development day at the employee’s expense by June 30th of the academic calendar. If there is absenta cost associated with the professional development completion, it will be the responsibility of the individual teacher.
