Common use of Professional Study Clause in Contracts

Professional Study. An unpaid leave of absence of up to one (1) year may be granted to any teacher upon application, for the purpose of engaging in study at an accredited college or university reasonably related to professional responsibilities. Upon return from such leave, a teacher shall be placed at the same position on the Salary Schedule as when the teacher left if the return is in the same school year. If the return is in the subsequent school year, the teacher shall be placed on the salary position one (1) step advanced from the step from which the teacher left the prior year.

Professional Study.
