Promotions, Transfers and Demotions. When an employee posts into to a new job through a job posting, she will be paid as follows: If the new job is a promotion to a higher rated job, the employee will start at the first step on the new scale which represents an increase. When an employee transfers to a job with the same pay rate structure as her former job, she will remain at the same increment step. If the new job is a demotion to a lower rated job, the employee will start at the same step on the new, lower pay scale, which she had reached in her old job.
