ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF UNION OFFICIALS. (a) All applications for leave of absence whether with or without pay shall be granted only to those official Union representatives whose absence in any specific case does not interfere with the operation of the Employer. Requests for such leave of absence shall nevertheless be given precedence over any other applications for leave on the same day.
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF UNION OFFICIALS. Any member of the Union appointed to attend any convention on behalf of the Union may be granted leave of absence without pay, at the discretion of the Chief Constable. An executive officer of the Union shall be granted time off to attend meetings of the organization, at the discretion of the Chief Constable.
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF UNION OFFICIALS. (a) The Corporation agrees that where permission has been granted to members of the Bargaining Committee of the Union to leave their employment temporarily for the purpose of collective bargaining with the Corporation, or for the purpose of settling a grievance as outlined in Clause 13 below, the said members shall suffer no loss of pay for the time so spent. For purposes of collective bargaining, up to three (3) Union representatives shall be eligible.
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF UNION OFFICIALS. It is agreed that the following employees shall suffer no loss of pay in absenting themselves from duty in the following instances, providing permission is obtained from the Fire Chief.
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF UNION OFFICIALS. The Employer agrees that where it is necessary for employees of the Bargaining Committee of the Union to leave their employment temporarily for the purpose of settling grievances as outlined in Article 11 below, the said employees shall suffer no loss of pay for the time so spent. Permission for such absence is at the discretion of the Fire Chief.
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF UNION OFFICIALS. (a) Where permission has been granted to members of the Union to leave their employment temporarily for the purpose of settling a grievance as outlined below, the said members shall suffer no loss of pay for the time so spent.
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF UNION OFFICIALS. (a) The representatives of the Union who act for the Union in collective bargaining with the Employer shall be granted such leave of absence with pay as may be necessary to carry out their duties in this capacity, subject to the discretion of the Department Head.
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF UNION OFFICIALS. The Employer will grant leave without pay to employees who are elected as representatives to attend UnionConventions, or for other Union business. Notice for such leave must be given to the Employer at least seven (7) days prior to the beginning of the leave.
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF UNION OFFICIALS. Leave with pay shall be granted to Officers of the Union upon application to and permission of the Human Resources Department in each specific case, when it becomes necessary to transact business affecting the members of the Union. All employees covered by this Agreement who have attained the rank of 4th year Firefighter or above, if appointed or elected to a full-time position in the service of the International Association of Firefighters, or if appointed by the Federal or Provincial Governments to public service for a term not to exceed the greater of four (4) years or one full term of the appointing government, or if accepted as a student by the Canadian Labour College, shall be granted Leave of Absence without pay while so engaged, and subject to the following provisions:
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF UNION OFFICIALS. 18.01 The Municipality agrees that where it is necessary for members of the Bargaining Committee of the Union, or a Union representative to leave their employment temporarily for the purpose of collective bargaining with the Municipality, or for the purpose of settling grievances as outlined in Section 19 below, the said employee shall suffer no loss of pay for the time so spent.
