Common use of Rate of Accrual Clause in Contracts

Rate of Accrual. Employees accrue paid sick leave at a rate of .05 hours per hour paid. An employee may carry over up to 40 hours of unused sick time from one year to a subsequent year. However, an employee may not at any time accrue more than 80 hours of sick time. Sick leave shall not accrue during unpaid time.
