RECOGNITION CLAUSE. Par. 1. The Union claims and the Employer acknowledges and agrees that the Union has supplied proof that a majority of its Elevator Constructor Mechanics, Elevator Constructor Helpers and Elevator Constructor Apprentices have authorized the Union to represent them in collective bargaining with the Employer. 2. The Union recognizes that it is the responsibility of the Company in the interest of the purchaser, the Company and its employees to maintain the highest degree of operating efficiency and to continue technical development to obtain better quality, reliability, and cost of its product provided, however, that this provision is not intended to affect the work jurisdiction specified in Article IV and other Articles of the Agreement.
