Common use of Recovery Time Clause in Contracts

Recovery Time. For every hour (or partial hour) worked on call-out, call-back, phone and/or laptop response time or regular overtime during the eight (8) hour period immediately prior to the employee’s regular shift, the employee will be allowed to take the following day, an equivalent number of hours at their regular rate of pay, CITY-paid recovery time. Recovery time should normally be used at the beginning of the regular shift to ensure the employee has had adequate rest before working their normal shift.
