Regional Outcomes Sample Clauses

Regional Outcomes. To understand how population-weighted exposures vary among regions, we calculated regional specific population-weighted concentrations. Figure 7 shows the population density in China, which illustrates a high population density in East and Central China. Eastern area of the Southwest region also has a high population density due to the big inland cities such as Chongqing. Beijing is in the North region, which brings to the high density of that area. The Tibetan Plateau, which is located in the Southwest, though with scarce population, has the issue of stratospheric intrusion because of its altitude in terms of O3 pollution. Regional population-weighted concentrations in 2008 are shown in Figure 8. From the figure, for PM2.5, Central and North China were the highest in terms of population- weighted concentrations in January and July, respectively. In January, WRF-Chem-MEIC led to the highest population-weighted concentrations of 166 μg/m3 per person for the Central region. In July, WRF-Chem-REAS produced a population-weighted concentration of 86 μg/m3 per person in North China. For O3, the result varied depending on the emission inventory used. For instance, in January, the highest (50 and 47 ppb per person, respectively) population-weighted concentrations were found in Southwest China from WRF-Chem-REAS and WRF- Chem-MEIC simulations, but in WRF-Chem-XXXXX, it was found in the Nothwest (48 ppb per person). WRF-Chem-REAS and WRF-Chem-XXXXX estimated the lowest population-weighted concentrations in the North China (36 and 39 ppb per person), whereas WRF-Chem-MEIC estimated the lowest in central China (28 ppb per person). Owing to the seasonal difference in the O3 distribution, North China experienced the highest population-weighted O3 exposure (68~80 ppb per person) in July. Overall, the difference among the regions was ~40% comparing the highest to the lowest, and it is not as high as it was for PM2.5, which was ~70%. Figure 9 shows the projected regional population-weighted concentrations simulated by four emission scenarios. The highest population-weighted PM2.5 concentrations were in Central China in January and in North China in July, ranging from 44 to 91 μg/m3 per person and 27 to 65 μg/m3 per person, respectively. Northeast is predicted to have the lowest population-weighted concentrations in January with an 80% decrease, and south China became the lowest in July with a 25% decrease compared with 2008, regardless of the emission scenarios for the bas...

Regional Outcomes. Readily accessible provision. Access for people from the widest range of backgrounds. Suitable progression pathways. SFC Priority 2 - Right learning in the right place Introduction The colleges will deliver a curriculum which is relevant to the learner, employer, community, business, economic and national needs and is responsive, flexible and dynamic in its development and application. This will be built on pro-active engagement between learners, teaching staff, employers and partners such as Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and local authorities to target the skills requirements of employers both locally and nationally. Building on this practice, a continuous process of improvement will be supported by comprehensive curriculum review and development. Young peoples’ progression to further post-16 learning and employment will be a prime driver in the development of provision and will be underpinned by partnerships between SDS, colleges and others in providing learning and employment pathways. The colleges will work closely with partners to ensure Opportunities for All is fully and consistently supported. We are committed to the implementation of Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) and will strive to play our part in ensuring 16-19 year olds have a place in post-16 education, training or employment. There are many indications of recent positive economic growth in Lanarkshire which was hit hard by the recession. Output growth in 2013 was amongst the strongest in Scotland, reflected in productivity increases. Recent business and employment growth has also outpaced the Scottish growth rate, with employment in the region now back to 2009 prerecession levels. Also, the proportion employed in professional occupations in the region has increased, and is now much closer to the Scotland average. The rate for those in East Dunbartonshire is however more than twice that of North Lanarkshire, and whilst there has been business and employment growth, the region is dominated by the public sector (notably health) and by the production and construction sectors. The region remains significantly under-represented in professional, scientific and technical and in the information and communications sectors, and in financial and business services. There is, however, strong representation in business administration and support services. [1] Although there has been economic growth in the region, there are variations within the region. Unemployment rates are higher in South Lanarkshire...

  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Capability The wind plant shall provide SCADA capability to transmit data and receive instructions from the ISO and/or the Connecting Transmission Owner for the Transmission District to which the wind generating plant will be interconnected, as applicable, to protect system reliability. The Connecting Transmission Owner for the Transmission District to which the wind generating plant will be interconnected and the wind plant Developer shall determine what SCADA information is essential for the proposed wind plant, taking into account the size of the plant and its characteristics, location, and importance in maintaining generation resource adequacy and transmission system reliability in its area.

  • CULTURAL DIVERSITY The Cultural Diversity Requirement generally does not add units to a student's program. Rather, it is intended to be fulfilled by choosing courses from the approved list that also satisfy requirements in other areas of the student’s program; the exception is that Cultural Diversity courses may not satisfy Culture and Language Requirements for B.S. students. For example, Anthropology 120 can fulfill (3) units of the Behavioral Science requirement and (3) units of the Cultural Diversity requirement. This double counting of a class may only be done with the Cultural Diversity requirement. Courses in Cultural Diversity may be taken at the lower-division or upper-division level. U . S .
