Common use of Reinstatement from Leave Clause in Contracts

Reinstatement from Leave. An employee granted any leave of absence, with the exception of prolonged illness (Article 17.4), shall, at the end of the leave or at an earlier date agreed to by the Employer, be reinstated in their position or a similar position in the same classification. It will be the employee’s responsibility to keep the Employer informed as to the date of return no less than two (2) weeks prior to the return date. Should the employee fail to provide the proper return notice, the Employer shall not be required to place the employee until such proper notice is given.
