RELIEVING IN HIGHER AND LOWER-RATED POSITIONS. (a) In the event of an employee relieving in a higher paid job, the employee shall receive the higher rate of the new position after not less than one (1) work day, retroactive to the start of the relief period. (b) In cases where an employee is required to transfer temporarily to a lower- rated job, such employee shall incur no reduction in wages because of such transfer. (c) Employees temporarily assigned to the duties of supervisory personnel outside the bargaining unit shall receive, at a minimum, ten percent (10%) per month more than the highest rate for their classification, or one hundred dollars ($100), or portion thereof, whichever is greater, if so employed for one (1) or more work days, retroactive to the start of the relief period. This shall not result in an employee receiving a higher hourly wage rate than the incumbent supervisor.
