Repatriation of Remains. In the event of your death as a result of a covered accident or unexpected sickness: a. up to a maximum of $5,000 toward the actual cost incurred for the preparation of remains and transportation (including a standard shipping container) to your permanent residence in Canada; or the USA for US residents. b. up to $5,000 for cremation and/or burial at the place of death. The cost of the casket, urn or funeral is not covered.

Repatriation of Remains. This Section 7. shall only apply to events that occur outside of Hong Kong during the Policy Period. If an Insured Person dies during the Policy Period as a result of an Injury sustained or Sickness commenced whilst the Insured Person is outside of Hong Kong during the Policy Period, the Company or its authorized representative shall make the necessary arrangements for the return of the Insured Person's remains to Hong Kong. The Company shall pay directly the actual and authorized costs incurred for such repatriation. In addition, the Company shall reimburse the reasonable and necessary expenses actually incurred, subject to its prior agreement, at the place of death outside Hong Kong for service rendered by a mortician or undertaker, including the cost of a casket, the embalming and cremation if so selected. The Insured Person or a person on his/her behalf must contact Travel Guard Assistance Hotline at (000) 0000 0000 for the arrangement. Exclusions applicable to Section 6 - Emergency Medical Evacuation and Section 7 - Repatriation of Remains No benefits shall be provided: 1. For any expenses incurred for services provided by another party for which the Insured Person is not liable to pay, or any expenses already included in the cost of the overseas travel. 2. For any expenses for a service not approved and arranged by the Company or its authorized representative except that this exclusion shall be waived in the event the Insured Person, his/her Residing Companion(s), or the Policyholder cannot contact Travel Guard Assistance hotline during an emergency medical situation for reasons beyond their control. In any event, the Company reserves the right to reimburse for those expenses incurred for service which the Company or its authorized representative would have otherwise provided under the same circumstances.
Repatriation of Remains. In the event of your death during a trip as a result of a covered emergency covered under the Policy benefits, the company will reimburse to a maximum of $5,000 for: a) The cost for reasonable and necessary services needed for the transport of your remains from the place of death to your city of residence in Canada; or b) The burial or the cremation of your remains where your death occurred. c) If someone is legally required to identify your remains, this policy covers the cost of a round-trip economy fare on a commercial flight via the most cost effective route for that person. Meals and accommodations for that person are covered up to a maximum of $150 per day, up to a maximum of 3 days. The cost of a casket, urn or burial coffin is not covered by this benefit.

Repatriation of Remains. The Company will pay benefits up to the amount stated in the Table of Benefits as shown for covered expenses reasonably incurred to return the Participant’s body to his country of origin if he dies. Covered expenses include, but are not limited to, expenses for: (a) embalming; (b) cremation; (c) coffins; and (d) transportation.
