Requests for Change (Open Bid for One. (1) Day Posting) Requests for changes in shift assignment or lateral transfers in the same department will be submitted in writing in advance for jobs that may subsequently become vacant. The Employer shall maintain a file of such requests for one hundred eighty days and shall provide the names in it to the supervisor in any department where a vacancy occurs. Employees requesting such transfers shall be given first consideration, on the basis of seniority, provided their merit and ability are adequate. The Employer will provide copies of requests for transfer to Union representatives at the time they are processed, upon request.
