Common use of Retirement Leave Clause in Contracts

Retirement Leave. An Employee scheduled to retire and to receive a superannuation allowance under the Public Service Superannuation Act, or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be entitled to: 9.11.1 a special leave for a period equivalent to forty percent (40%) of accumulated Sick Leave credit, to be taken immediately prior to retirement, or 9.11.2 a special cash payment of an amount equivalent to the cash value of the forty percent (40%) of accumulated Sick Leave credit, to be paid immediately prior to retirement and based upon the Employee's current rate of pay calculated as in Article 9.2.4.1.
