Common use of Return to Former Job Clause in Contracts

Return to Former Job. An employee who has been promoted or transferred to another job within the represented unit maybe returned by the County to his [her former job or an equivalent position, within ninety (90) calendar days or before completion of a formal training program, if the employee does not demonstrate the ability and fitness to satisfactorily perform the job to which promoted or transferred. An employee who has accepted another job within the represented may ask to return to his/her former job within five (5) calendar days after commencing work on the new job. An employee who receives a new job under this procedure shall not be permitted to bid for another job for one (l) year thereafter, and an employee who returns to his/her former classification under this procedure will not be permitted to bid again on the same job for one (1) year thereafter.
