Roster Variations. 3.3.1 A roster variation occurs when the Department directs an employee to work a different shift to the shift which the employee has been rostered to work. 3.3.2 The Department will give an employee 72 hours notice of a roster variation. The notice period may be waived by agreement between the Department and the employee.

Roster Variations. 22.3.1 In order to meet the needs of the business, Kmart may vary a permanent Employee's roster subject to the following conditions: (a) Any variation shall be within the span of ordinary hours for a shift and shall not result in a change of shift type (e.g. a change from day shift to afternoon shift). (b) An Employee's roster shall not be subject to frequent variation from one (1) cycle to another. (c) Except for Employees who may be rostered to work on Saturdays in accordance with clause 20.1, any roster variations shall be restricted to the days Monday to Friday inclusive. (d) Before an Employee is notified of a roster change, Kmart shall call for expressions of interest for the proposed new roster/s so that, as far as possible, the change/s can be addressed through volunteers with appropriate skills. (e) If the roster change cannot be addressed through volunteers, rosters may be varied through the following consultation process in sub-clause 22.

Roster Variations i) Managers may vary rosters within the standard hours to meet essential operational requirements. In any case, employees will, be given four (4) weeks’ notice of roster changes. ii) Appeals regarding rosters shall follow the normal disputes resolution procedures contained in this agreement.
